Thank You, Good People of the Middle Ages!

The Häme Medieval Festival 2026 has come to an end, and it’s time to thank everyone who joined us for a weekend immersed in the spirit of the Middle Ages.

This year, we welcomed 26,565 visitors to the festival grounds – a number that fills us with gratitude and pride. Thank you to everyone who wandered the market streets, cheered at the tournaments, enjoyed the tavern, watched the performances, and embraced the medieval experience with us.

A special thank you goes to those who bravely endured the whims of the weather. We did order sunshine for the weekend, but apparently the messenger lost the way. Our apologies for the inconvenience – we hope your wet shoes were at least part of a memorable adventure.

Throughout the weekend, the festival came alive with music, combat displays, horses, markets, workshops, and countless unforgettable encounters. Our performers filled the grounds with music that captivated the crowds. Blacksmiths forged glowing iron, artisans demonstrated their craftsmanship, and living history groups brought the past to life in a way no history book ever could.

In the villages, arenas, and market streets, history was not merely displayed – it was truly lived.

We also cannot fail to mention Sir Alarik the Steadfast, who somehow managed to discover heroes, dragons, perilous quests, and at least one highly suspicious-looking campfire. According to Sir Alarik, every visitor became part of a greater story – and this weekend, that certainly felt true.

Our heartfelt thanks go to all performers, merchants, re-enactors, partners, volunteers, staff members, and everyone whose work was seen – or quietly took place behind the scenes. A festival like this is never built overnight, nor by one person alone. It is created through a shared passion for history, culture, and unforgettable experiences.

Now the market streets fall silent, the tents come down, and the last campfires fade away.

But only for a while.

We’ll meet again in the Middle Ages…
